Cinco de Mayo

Having such amazing friends so close by means we have TONS of Sunday Fun-day’s!  Yesterday, happened to be Cinco de Mayo which just gave us a reason to theme the food for our gathering. 

We are beyond blessed with fab friends and it warms my heart that my kiddos have such amazing friends they can create these memories with.

Dear Ellie and Cullen,

I L.O.V.E. that every single Friday night is family movie night.  We start every Friday evening with a dinner at Sweet Tomatoes followed by popcorn and a movie in mom and dad’s bed.  Saturdays are usually packed with parties, but almost every Sunday with nice weather we spend the day together swimming and grilling and usually sharing our day with friends. We are all blessed to have the friendships that we have.

Ellie’s 6th birthday

Dear Ellie,

I was in total shock when I woke up on December 14, 2012.  It just doesn’t seem like six years should pass so quickly. 

You changed SO much this year.  Going from 5 to 6 was some major growing up for you.  I would say that I would like to freeze time, but truthfully, you change daily and watching you grow and learn is an amazing gift for us to witness.

You are my artistic, dreamer child.  You love to love, you are maternal, girly, and sensitive. 

Your birthday started like they all do…happy birthday breakfast with a gift, a trip to Sugarland to get all dolled up and then visit bubba.

For your birthday party you asked for a painting/rainbow party.  We invited your friends to Painting with a Twist and it was such an awesome experience.  You loved it, your friends loved it and the parents loved getting to take home their kiddos creations.  You made a great choice and I can’t wait to hang up your crazy reindeer picture every year during the holidays!

Balloons to our Bennett…Happy Birthday, little hero!  We love you and you are ALWAYS in our hearts and on our minds.

Dear Ellie and Bennett,

Happy 6th birthday, little miracles!  You are two of the greatest loves of my life.  You two made me a mommy which will stand as the best day of my life forever.  I can’t believe how quickly the years pass. 

Ellie, you have changed and grown into such a fabulous little lady.  Your outer beauty is mesmerizing, but what’s inside of you in enviable.  Your heart and sole are so kind.  I pray that as you grow you continue to live for Him and like Him.  It makes mommy and daddy proud that you do that daily now. 

Bennett, you bless us daily all the way from Heaven which is so awesome.  We miss knowing who you would be here, but that makes meeting you again one day even more exciting.  I live each day remembering the strength you displayed daily and that makes me know accomplishing ANYTHING is possible.   You are our light, little hero.

Christmas 2012

We arrived home late in the evening on the 23rd, so Christmas Eve was our first full day back home. 

These elves were VERY prepared for Christmas this year!  Well, minus the 832 piece play mobile farm set…that was a major mistake! 

Christmas Eve was filled with our family traditions of baking, cooking and prepping for the Big Man to make his stop! 

While we loved visiting Colorado at Christmas, I am certain we will be going in January next year!  This momma was WORN out by the end of Christmas Day!

Dear Ellie and Cullen,

What an amazing holiday season we had this year.  The trips and the gifts are fun, but teaching both of you the true reason we celebrate the holiday and watching you “get it” is the best gift of all! 

I hope you always feel special this time of year and I pray that the memories and traditions our little family make will last a lifetime!
